Superbills are also commonly known as Encounter Forms, Charge Slips, or Fee Tickets. These are the pre-printed forms that are utilized to document the charges, through procedure codes, linked with a sufferer visit along with supporting data, like diagnosis codes, that are needed to bill insurance companies. Superbills save up time for providers by giving a predefined list of codes for their practice that they can use to conveniently “check off” the services connected with a patient visit. Superbills are then given to a medical biller where the proposed charges are entered into medical billing software so they can be billed to insurance companies and sufferers. The provider signature on the superbill makes this a legal billing document and attests to the fact that services were performed and might be billed for.
